About the festival

This December, Cell18 - Asia’s largest production house - celebrates the power of documentaries, short films and the vast student talent pool in India.

The Work-in-Progress Film Festival is here and the student community is gearing up for the competition. Students from across the country are sending in their short films and documentaries, hoping to get showcased on India’s leading TV Network – Network18 - and to get noticed by the leading filmmakers of India, who will be on the Jury Panel. Not to forget the cash prize, which is a bonus to the budding filmmakers!

Cell18 believes that many of the current students will be at the forefront of filmmaking, not just in India, but also internationally. Work-in-Progress offers these students a great start to their global filmmaking career. The winning films will be aired on “Through the Looking Glass” on CNBC TV18 and the entrants have their fingers crossed! Rarely, an opportunity as exciting and as big as this for students of filmmaking comes along.

The last date to submit entries is November 10th, 2008. There’s no entry fee and students are encouraged to send multiple entries and spread the word! So have you are passionate about film making or know of people who are..
